The Kyrgyz Association of Forest and Land Users has already stated its international partnership through signing an agreement with GENO, the Norwegian breeding organization of Norwegian Red (NRF), as the official distributor of the Norwegian Red semen in Kyrgyzstan.. Last December a ceremony took place, in Kant Milk-Farm just outside Bishkek, to launch the formal distribution of the product in the country.

The ceremonial launch of the distribution of the Norwegian Red Cow semen in Kyrgyzstan.

This ceremony covered by the local Medias was a successful event, notably because of the big interest expressed by the representatives of the local authorities, Ministry of Agriculture, Parliament, State Veterinary Inspection, and State Pasture Department as well as the potential milk producers and farmers who came from different districts of the country.

Currently, Norwegian Forestry Group jointly with the Association has organized similar gatherings in order regions  to promote the product, and inform the local stakeholders about the advantages and the benefits of artificial insemination using GENO/Norwegian Red semen. Already more farmers introduced NRF in their herds and it is expected that many more will try this in the spring which is the busiest time for insemination of cows in Kyrgyzstan.

The livestockand agriculture sector is one of the most important industry in Kyrgyzstan, they have currently about 600 000 cattle and several million sheep. Almost 50 % of the land area is considered appropriate grazing land. They have several local breeds and small numbers of the most prosperous farmers have started with the introduction of new breeds.
